Classic preset, retitled

Pro forma invoice template

A pro forma invoice template titled correctly, with a validity note, a signature line for acceptance and your final invoice's layout. Free, in the browser.

A pro forma invoice is a preliminary bill — a commitment of what will be charged, sent before goods ship or work starts. It must be titled so it is not confused with a tax invoice, and it usually carries a validity period and space for the client to accept.

This template takes the Classic layout, renames the title to "Pro forma invoice", adds a text block for validity and a signature line. When the deal is confirmed, duplicate it, rename the title and it becomes the final invoice. Invoice vs receipt vs quote explains where each document fits.

Why it works

Clearly not a tax invoice

The title is editable per invoice, so the document says what it is, and you can add a note that it is not a request for payment.

Duplicate into the real invoice

One click duplicates the document with a fresh number; retitle it and issue it as the final invoice.

Acceptance built in

A signature and date line gives the client a place to confirm, on paper or on a printed PDF.
